About

Caffeinated Ramblings

I’m the mother of two beautiful daughters ages 25 and 19, so I’ve already made most of my parenting mistakes, or at least that’s my hope.

I’m also a substitute teacher by profession. It’s a fantastic job, allowing me the time to pursue other interests such as writing through my blog.

A hobby that will no doubt take me outside my comfort zone, encouraging me to continue learning and growing as a person,Β and that’s never a bad thing.

Finding balance is very important to me. Balance between work and personal life, the balance within. I’m at peace when my mind,Β body and soul are in harmony with each other.

I also love movies, books, art and music. I would love to know how to play the electric guitar,Β and perhaps one day I’ll get to it. Who knows?

I’m also into working out. I started working out about 30 years ago – and yes – that does make me feel a little old(er). It also makes me proud. I would like to think that those 30 years are a good exampleΒ of my determination and perseverance.

It really is a matter of perception, don’t you think? A matter of whether the cup is half empty or half full of my favorite coffee.

I try to keep my cup half full.

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Finding balance…struck a chord as that’s the third time this week I’ve been told that! You liked a post on Ettas meet and greet and if I’m not mistaken said post warned that would cause me to come looking for the owners blog…et voila…. Love it too. Had to follow…so..hope you don’t mind 😊

      1. No problem at all…it’s my pleasure 😊 And thank you kindly for returning the kindness…although with me these things are never obligatory in nature πŸ™ƒ

      2. Only way to write…anything on top is a bonus 😊 Poetry is quite niche in some respects but then I guess so is my writing genre…five years ago I’d have said pah to poetry…but since I started writing fiction I’ve totally changed my opinion. Anyone who writes anything I fully appreciate now and if it’s good then I follow them…and if time is my friend I try to comment…although that’s getting much harder as the followers grow in number. Your writing is very good by the way 😊

      3. Thank you Gary for such kind words πŸ™‚ I know it can be difficult to keep up with all the comments. Especially for those who have a large readership. I figure everyone gets to it whenever they get a chance πŸ™‚

      4. You’re welcome 😊…thing I find hard is the volume of emails and the fact that as you follow more people each post flies down the reader faster and faster so missing posts gets easier. I just hope everyone realises that goes on a doesn’t get too annoyed if I don’t comment frequently on other blogs πŸ™ƒ

    1. Gary I had the same so I went into settings and stopped the emails by changing preferences, which leaves the ones you follow in the ‘reader’ scary… but now I set a time and spend an hour once a day catching up and replying. Much better than all those emails every day. Hope it helps you. bye for now… from an interfering blogger * waves*

      1. Haha. 😊 That’s a great idea. I’ve been doing the same lately. I usually set aside time in the evenings to catch up. A time I greatly enjoy. 😊

    1. Thank you πŸ™‚ It took me a while to find the right theme and to get things the way that I wanted them. I’m happy now, but I’m still learning. I’ll probably still be learning this time next year πŸ™‚ Thank you so much for stopping by!

  3. Ah the freedom of being a substitute teacher – after years in the classroom and taking a step back to find balance, this is where I’m at currently. I wish I could find similarities with my workout routine to yours but that aspect still evades me! Pleased to meet you and your blog πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you, Haylee πŸ™‚ I love subbing. It does offer a lot more freedom and independence than a full time position. I also get to know a lot of different students which I love πŸ™‚ I’ve known this year’s graduating class since grade 6 πŸ™‚ It’s a privilege to witness their growth as they go through the educational system πŸ™‚ I tend to workout right after work. That way, I’m not tempted to leave it. I know it’s not easy squeezing in that time. Thank you for stopping by!

  4. So great to meet you. We seem to have much in common, two kids, a love of music, movies, reading and trying to keep the balance (I’m a Libran), I also play guitar and have a weakness for dark chocolate. πŸ™‚ Look forward to getting to know you more through your lovely blog. Cheers and warmest wishes from Australia.

I have a blog where I write mainly classic movie reviews, and I just started in November so I am a newbie. Anyways, I look forward to reading more of your poetry and delving into your blog. I will be on Trinity Topics next week, and I would love it if you would check out my blog πŸ™‚ It is https://charsmoviereviews.wordpress.com. It is nice to find other people from out around the bay blogging!
