Report Cards, the Flu and Poetry

I know that I haven’t been around much lately. I’ve been so busy this past week preparing report cards which are due out next week. I’ve also been battling the flu.

I woke up last Saturday with the worse flu in years. I ended up spending my entire weekend on the couch in a state of near self-pity. I hate being under the weather.

I’m still waiting for my t-shirt haha. πŸ™‚

I was feeling much better by Monday, which was great seems how it was the start of another work week. Although I couldn’t wait to get back home and into my comfy PJ’s.

Tuesday night I woke up at 2:30 a.m. and despite my best efforts, I absolutely couldn’t get back to sleep. Needless to say, on Wednesday I was in a complete fog.

Fortunately, the students were very understanding. Thanks to their cooperation, the day went way better than I could’ve hoped.

I am feeling much better now. Although food still doesn’t taste right. Thanks to the flu, I never know what I’m going to get when biting into something.

I’ve been living off chicken burgers for most of the week. I don’t even eat chicken burgers. But at least they taste like I expect them to. Kudos to the chicken burger!

I did manage to post a couple of poems on my other site, but summoning up the ability to share with my amazing fellow bloggers required more energy than I could muster .

Now that I’m feeling better, I do intend to catch up with everyone over the next few days or so.

Until then, I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their weekend. I’ll see you around the blogospere. πŸ™‚

And just in case you’d like to have a read, here are the links to my poems:

Through the Years Β A poem that looks at the evolution of our dreams as we get older.

Invisible GhostΒ Another one of my poems that looks at violence against women.
