It’s Said

We’re all in the same boat.

So why not build us a new one?

This one adrift and unableย

to withstand the tides of change.

We missed the docking bay,

so let’s make port right here

and build over – A new boat

able to sail the tides of change.

And while we’re there, why notย

paint this one in all our image?

Not just in mine or yours –

A kaleidoscope of renewed hopeย .

Maybe I’m too damn strange –

lost in my dreams and lost seas.

A new age hippie listening

to the seagulls’ early morning cry.

But I’m tired of this square world

with its stuffy black and whites.

I dream of a world shaped by love’s hand.

An affirmation of faith in me and you.

Steering our boat toward the next sunrise –

Instead of fighting among ourselves

while we take in more water still.

How long until it sinks?

Time to make port and build over.

A boat in all our image

as we sail the tides of change.

An affirmation of faith in me and you.ย

    1. I have an account with FanStory that offers copyright services. Something I need to catch up on actually. It’s a great site and you can also receive feedback from other members with regards to your poems.
