Corner Ring

Lonely girl alone on the street on a rainy day

Time to make things right.

My life worth fightin’ for –

Ain’t nobody can stop me.

It’s time to beat down the walls.

♦

They’re done holdin’ me down.

No wall stronger than me.

I’m gonna beat the odds –

Ain’t nobody can stop me.

♦

I’m not much – not yet,

but I’m all there is.

Some day I’m gonna count.

I’m done standing in line.

Orphan sits alone on the road with a suitcase

I won’t be another number

filed away in the dark.

No room for cold feet now –

My gloves laced and ready.

♦

I fought the devil and

now he’s running for cover.

I’m not afraid of my demons

whispering dark nothings by rote.

♦

Time to find that girl

left out on the street.

It’s taken too many already.

Mine calling my name.

♦

Ain’t nobody gonna stop us.Β
